Fighting for the Preservation of Private Property Rights
The Land Association of North Dakota supports the preservation of revenue-generating activities for farmers and ranchers by safeguarding their most valuable resource—LAND. Contributions also help protect wildlife, environmental, and soil resources through innovative voluntary and compensatory programs, ensuring sustainability for future generations. Additionally, your support upholds private property rights, empowering landowners to maintain and manage their land responsibly.

Our Story
The Land Association of North Dakota represents farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses committed to preserving private property rights. Presently our primary focus is addressing U.S. Fish and Wildlife easements signed decades ago, which now limit farmers' ability to improve and manage their land. We believe perpetual easements should not automatically transfer to new landowners, as they contribute to significant environmental challenges, including increased soil salinity that harms both agriculture and wildlife.

In 2020, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife collaborated with LAND and other agricultural groups to develop a mapping and wetland setback system that was more equitable for landowners. However, in 2023, they reversed this progress and reinstated the pre-2020 rule.

By becoming a member of the LAND Association, you enable us to advocate on your behalf, working with state and federal governments to alleviate the challenges posed by perpetual federal easements
